title: forgiveness. time: 8:30 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- if i had to describe myself in one word, it'd be forgiving.note that i didn't say its a good thing. at the same time, i don't think its bad. i think its just, me. the reason i don't hold grudges, also the reason i'm taken for granted. *smirk* * i guess i always felt that forgiving releases you of all burdens. though. i know sometimes there's a certain satisfaction in not forgiving and continue the hating. in the natural human way of wanting the people we dislike to continue feeling bad and be under that horrible feeling of being not forgiven. * besides, like one of my bestf said to me last night, "not everyone deserves forgiveness you know." * TRUE. that i can't deny. in fact, maybe most people we don't normally forgive are people who don't deserve it. then again, how deserving it is differs for people. * i guess to me, forgiveness should be given to those who've seriously learnt their mistake. forgiveness should be given to those who honestly want to change/ have changed. and forgiveness i will give to mistakes i know are mistakes i want to be forgiven for if i made. its the whole putting myself in people's shoes thing. * just remember that most of the time, forgiving makes you the bigger person. no one asks you to trust the other person again. but forgiving throws the ball back to the other person's court. it won't be your burden to bear anymore. forgiving throws the ball back to the other person as now the other person has to prove that the forgiveness was rightly given. * x |
